New product by CVL Luminaires : the Cornet pendant
The Cornet collection by CVL Luminaire
A delicate design for the newly released Cornet pendant lamp by CVL Luminaires. Designed by the duo Sébastien Kieffer and Léa Padovani from Studio Pool, the elegant pendant made entirely of solid brass is a variation of the Cornet wall lamp released a few months ago. With the Cornet wall lamp from the IP44 collection, specially designed for bathrooms, the idea was to offer a light that is both minimalist and playful around a spherical light : a blown opal glass ball. Thanks to the technique of folding the brass material, CVL Luminaires has obtained a cone shape of which the finishes observed on each of the facets really highlight the material. The Cornet wall lamp is then extended lengthwise to compose a pendant lamp with an oval and conical design that can accommodate three or five opal glass balls. The Cornet pendant lamp can in addition be imagined above a round table or multiplied above a cocktail bar of a large hotel.
CVL Luminaires & Studio POOL: an enlightened collaboration
It was in 2003 that Emilie Cathelineau joined CVL as a designer. Her mission is to set up an integrated design studio at CVL to develop the collections and give rise to the new range of CVL Luminaires products. For interior architects, decorators and design publishing houses who are looking for high-end craftsmanship, CVL has a card to play thanks to the goldsmith’s work done on the brass. The family business then developed a sophisticated view towards commercial and residential architecture. For several years now, CVL has opened itself up to the inventiveness and daring of recognized independent designers. Studio Pool is one of them. The collaboration with Léa Padovani and Sébastien Kieffer started in 2016 when they designed the “Calé” collection. The two designers, specialized in furniture and interior architecture, then created the brand’s new graphic designs in 2017. For four years now, they have been guiding the artistic direction of CVL Luminaires collections. This enlightened collaboration gives CVL the ability to manufacture unique, modern lighting, adaptable to any interior, reflected in a global context and always in harmony with CVL’s spirit.
