Retrospective

The history of CVL Luminaires is above all a human and family adventure. Founded in 1960, the company has evolved over the decades while remaining true to its roots in craftsmanship and the excellence of its expertise.

French Family-Owned Business

More than thirty years ago, Eric Baron took over the family business CVL Luminaires, founded by his father Henri in 1960. Under his leadership, CVL shifted towards contemporary design, modernizing its range of luminaires, which were once made of wrought iron and ceramics, to focus on solid brass. This choice has shaped CVL’s current identity, where the quality of materials and the perfection of lines are at the heart of every creation.

CVL Luminaires now has a team of more than twenty highly skilled craftsmen. Each luminaire is entirely hand-crafted, combining the rigour of industry with the precision of goldsmiths.

Brass work, a signature

Solid brass is the central element of CVL Luminaires’ creations. Its malleability, strength and elegance make it an exceptional material, enhanced by satin, polished or lacquered finishes. Each piece passes through the expert hands of our craftsmen, who ensure an impeccable finish, true to the quality demands of the house.

The entire production process, from design to packaging, is carried out in-house, ensuring absolute control over quality and flexibility in terms of finishes and customisation.
