Bespoke lightings : a specialty of CVL Luminaires

Aware of the quest for uniqueness for many of its customers, CVL has set up a design office that designs custom-made lights. This unit is able to respond to the most demanding projects for brass lighting provided that they fall within the sphere of the know-how of the production unit. This service, specifically developed for architects, decorators and publishing houses, offers the possibility to study all special orders. With agility and pragmatism, Emilie Cathelineau, CVL’s integrated designer, will first study the feasibility of the project. In a team with the artisans of the workshop, she will check if the manufacture of the lighting project, whatever its type, a pendant, a wall lamp or a table lamp, is feasible. If the manufacturing is acceptable by the CVL workshop, the custom-made lighting project then becomes a prototype. The prototyping stage is a success if the operation and mounting method of the luminaire comply with electrical safety standards and faithfully reflect the customer’s sketch and specifications. This is how the design office gives life to unique decorative lights for exceptional interior spaces. This specific custom-made lighting service has enabled CVL to support big names in interior design on entirely personalized development projects.

Custom-made lightings for Maison Delas Frère

The Maison Delas Frère opened its doors to wine tourism with the construction of a new wine complex on the banks of the Rhône in Tain-l’Hermitage. The Swedish architect and project manager Carl Fredrik Svenstedt was chosen to carry out this ultra-modern 6000 m2 project. With very contemporary lines, the complex includes an ambulatory course allowing visitors to better understand the wine-growing process, a cellar for red wines and a tasting room.

It was for the creation of the chandelier suspended above the counter in the tasting room that Siltec called on the services of CVL’s design offices. This Parisian company specialized in the development of tertiary and residential spaces has been working on behalf of architects, companies and hotels since 1977. They wanted a 3-meter-long fixed pendant in brass to cover the tasting counter. For tailor-made manufacturing, adapting our know-how to the customer’s wishes is the first step in the collaboration. A few round trips with the customer made it possible to refine the design of the first proposal to perfectly adjust the order and launch the production of the prototype.

Tailor-made pendants from Chai Delas in technical details

After consensus, two identical 2m chandeliers suspended side by side adorn and illuminate the counter of the Chai Delas Frère tasting room. The pendant with a final length of 4m is made in brushed brass finish, varnished in satin. Each chandelier is composed of a 2m brass bar and has 4 discs of 23cm illuminating in the direction of the counter. From the ceiling, the hangers of the chandeliers are also made of brass. The brass material fixes the assembly perfectly so that it does not swing. The chandeliers are fitted with integrated 2700°K LEDs with variable phase-cut drivers.
